This month, we’re spotlighting Sebastian, an Account Manager who’s grown with the company and now helps drive meaningful conversations with our customers. From his roots in customer support to building strong client relationships, Sebastian brings both heart and impact to everything he does.

I am an Account Manager. I do churn prevention, have onboarding meetings with some of the customers, and handle our Premium and VIP clients.
When did you start working at smrtPhone?
I started working at smrtPhone two and a half years ago, back in November 2023.
What’s your background?
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Transylvania University in Brașov, Romania. After graduating, I started working in a call center for AOL and Yahoo as a Customer Support Representative. After a while, I was promoted to Renewals Manager for Okta, a large cybersecurity company in the United States. From Okta, I moved directly to smrtPhone.
What’s your first job?
My very first job was when I was 16. I worked at a place similar to a kids’ park, where I helped create a fun experience for children.
What do you like about working for smrtPhone?
The environment, to be honest. I have some of the best colleagues I could ever hope for. The workflow is great, and I’m currently in a position that I love because it gives me the flexibility to communicate with customers and have a real impact on the company.
Describe smrtPhone in three words:
Energy. Adaptive. Strong.
The energy within the company is something I haven’t seen anywhere else. We’re very adaptive. We handle situations really well and adjust quickly when needed. And we’re strong because we’ve been in the business for years and continue to grow.
Is there a particular moment/project at smrtPhone that stands out and makes you feel proud?
I started as a Support Representative, and I really enjoyed my time there because the support team is amazing. Now, as an Account Manager, I work directly with customers and collaborate with the sales department, which has been a great experience.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I like going to the gym and playing soccer. I also have two boys and a Siberian Husky, and I enjoy going hiking with my dog. It’s a great way to relax and clear my mind.
Name something that is on your “bucket list.”
I’d like to go skydiving, jump out of an airplane. I also want to visit Japan. Aside from that, I want to travel more. I prefer focusing on one or two goals at a time so I can fully commit to them.
What’s a fun fact people might not know about you?
Most people don’t see me as someone who reads, but I actually enjoy it a lot. I like reading business books and sci-fi novels.
