But calls don’t always arrive at convenient moments. Your acquisitions manager might already be in another conversation. It might be after hours. The call goes to voicemail, and the plan is to return it later.

That moment, the gap between a seller reaching out and the conversation actually beginning, is something more investors have started paying attention to.
