Zoom Phone alternative
The Zoom Phone alternative built for outbound, not meetings
Zoom Phone is telephony added to a Zoom subscription, and the plan names say so outright: every tier is described as Phone added to Workplace Basic, Pro or Business. If your company already lives in Zoom it is a tidy arrangement - one vendor, one login, a call that becomes a video meeting in a click. What it is not is a tool for working a list. No plan describes a power, auto or predictive dialer, the integrations named on the plans are Salesforce, Slack, Microsoft and Google, and no texting allowance is published anywhere on the pricing page.
No card required. No seat minimum.
The short version
- Every Zoom Phone plan is a bundle with a meetings plan. The entry tier is phone added to Workplace Basic, whose meetings are capped at 40 minutes and 100 participants.
- No plan on the pricing page describes a power, auto or predictive dialer, and there is no campaign or list-dialing feature in the comparison matrix.
- The integrations named on the plans are Salesforce, Slack, Zoom Contact Center, Microsoft and Google. No investor CRM appears among them.
- Domestic SMS and MMS are listed as included, but the pricing page publishes no monthly allowance for either. A smrtPhone seat includes 1,000 segments, then $0.02.
- Plans are $18, $24 and $29 a user a month, or $16, $20.50 and $24.50 billed annually, with unlimited calling to 19 more countries as a paid add-on.

The other side
When Zoom Phone is the better choice
Zoom Phone is the broader subscription and the simpler one. Unlimited US and Canada calling is on every plan where we include 500 minutes and meter the rest at $0.03, a domestic number comes with each user, and the same subscription carries meetings, team chat, whiteboard and mail. Its own Capterra profile is 4.5 from 246 reviews. If your phone work is answering, transferring and joining meetings rather than dialing a list, this comparison does not apply to you.
- Your company already pays for Zoom and consolidation is the point.
- You want phone, meetings, chat and mail on one bill and one login.
- Your calling is inbound or internal rather than outbound to a list.
- Unlimited domestic minutes matter more to you than a texting allowance.
- Your CRM is Salesforce, which is the one they name.
If your company already runs on Zoom
For a business that already pays for Zoom, adding phone lines to the same subscription is a sensible piece of consolidation: one vendor, one login, one bill, numbers and extensions managed in the admin portal people already use, and a call that turns into a video meeting without anybody switching apps. smrtPhone does none of that - no meetings, no chat, no whiteboard, no mail. It does run the phone system itself, with call flows, inbound teams and departments, voicemail, business hours, warm transfer and conference calling, but that is where it stops. If what you need is a company phone system inside the tools you already run, that is a reasonable way to buy it.
This page is for the narrower job: a team whose day is outbound calls and texts against a list, with the record living in an investor CRM, needing a dialer and an allowance that survives a real week of prospecting.
Why outbound teams need something else
-
There was no dialer at any price
Zoom Phone has three tiers and a set of add-ons, and none of them describes a power, auto or predictive dialer. A team working a bought list is clicking numbers one at a time however much it spends. smrtDialer runs one to four lines with AI voice detection, voicemail drops logged to the CRM and unlimited campaigns, at $50 or $90 on a $29 seat.
smrtDialer, up to 4 lines -
The CRM was not Salesforce
The integrations named on the Zoom Phone plans are Salesforce, Slack, Zoom Contact Center, Microsoft and Google. For an investor team on Podio, DataSift, Left Main REI or InvestorFuse there is nothing to connect, so the call happens in one place and the record lives in another. smrtPhone is native to all ten and writes the call and the text to the record.
Ten native CRM integrations -
They were buying meetings they did not need
Every Zoom Phone plan is phone added to a Workplace plan, so the bill includes meetings, chat, whiteboard, mail and storage whether or not the team uses them. A three-person acquisitions desk wants lines, a dialer and texting. smrtPhone sells exactly that and nothing else.
One seat at $29, dialer from $50
Built into the CRM you already run
Calls, texts, recordings and dispositions land on the record they belong to, with no connector in between.

What switching actually involves
Numbers port. Work out first what you would be leaving behind: if the meetings, chat and mail in that subscription are load-bearing for the rest of the company, smrtPhone replaces only the calling half and the sensible move is to keep both rather than swap one for the other.
- Port your numbers. They move with you. Nobody has to learn a new number.
- Connect the CRM. Calls, texts, recordings and dispositions start writing to the record.
- Rebuild your call flows. Routing, ring groups, business hours and the DNC applet.
- Run both for a few days. Then move the dialing over once the logging looks right.
How long the port really takes
- Porting takes one to three weeks once the paperwork is in and confirmed. It is faster when your current provider sits on the same underlying carrier we do, and slower if the paperwork comes back rejected over a detail that does not match your carrier record.
- Support does the work. You start it from live chat and the team handles the submission.
- Do not cancel your old provider until the port completes. Your number keeps working throughout.
- Occasionally voice ports a few hours before texting does. It settles by itself.
Questions people ask before switching
Does Zoom Phone have a power dialer?
No plan describes one. Zoom Phone is a business phone system - extensions, routing, voicemail, recording, SMS - and neither its plan cards nor its feature comparison mentions a power, auto or predictive dialer, or any campaign or list-dialing tool. smrtDialer runs one to four lines with AI voice detection at $50 for a single line or $90 for up to four, on top of a $29 seat.
How much does Zoom Phone cost?
Three tiers: US & CA Unlimited at $18 a user a month, Pro Plus at $24 and Business Plus at $29, or $16, $20.50 and $24.50 billed annually. Each is a Zoom Workplace plan with phone added, so the meetings, chat and storage allowance changes with the tier. Unlimited calling to 19 more countries is a paid add-on. smrtPhone is $29 a seat a month with smrtDialer at $50 or $90 for the people who dial.
Does Zoom Phone integrate with my CRM?
The integrations named on the plans are Salesforce, Slack, Zoom Contact Center, Microsoft and Google, and its marketplace CRM category runs to mainstream tools. No investor CRM appears: not Podio, DataSift, Left Main REI, InvestorFuse, Realeflow, Invelo, Carrot, Tape or GoHighLevel. smrtPhone is native to all ten from the $29 seat, with the call and the text written to the record.
How many texts does Zoom Phone include?
Domestic SMS and MMS are listed as included on every plan, but the pricing page publishes no monthly allowance for either, so there is no figure to compare or budget against. A smrtPhone seat includes 1,000 SMS and MMS segments a month, then $0.02 a segment, written to your CRM record alongside the calls.
