Aircall alternative
The Aircall alternative with no seat minimum
Most people looking for an Aircall alternative are not unhappy with the calling - they are unhappy with the shape of the deal. Aircall is a support and customer-success platform sold to companies with headcount, and that is the job it is built around. Three things make it a poor fit for a small team working a list: every plan it publishes a price for carries a 3-licence minimum, so the cheapest account you can actually buy is $120 a month for three seats whether you have three people or one; its power dialer is single-line and sits on the $70 Professional tier; and it has no native Podio integration, so the investor CRM stack is reachable only through middleware you pay for separately. smrtPhone sells one seat from $24, dials up to four lines, and is built into those CRMs directly.
No card required. No seat minimum.
The short version
- Every Aircall plan with a published price requires a minimum of 3 licences, and the Custom tier requires 25. The cheapest priceable Aircall account is $120 a month, or $90 billed annually. smrtPhone has no seat minimum.
- Aircall's Power Dialer is single-line and only on the $70 Professional plan. smrtDialer runs up to 4 lines at once, from $50 a seat.
- Aircall prices AI per licence on top of the seat: AI Assist $9, AI Assist Pro $49, Analytics+ $15, WhatsApp $10.
- The Aircall integration directory lists Invelo and DataSift. Podio, InvestorFuse, Left Main REI, Realeflow, Carrot and Tape are not in it. smrtPhone integrates with all of them natively.
- Aircall includes unlimited outbound calling in the US and Canada. smrtPhone includes 500 minutes a seat and charges $0.03 a minute after that, so a very high-volume domestic month is worth pricing against our $99 unlimited seat.

What it actually costs, with the arithmetic shown
One person who dials out of a CRM list and wants AI call summaries, on month-to-month billing. The comparison is seat cost, because this is where the two products actually differ.
| Line item | Aircall | smrtPhone |
|---|---|---|
| Cheapest plan with a power dialer | Professional, $70 a licence | Standard seat $29, plus smrtDialer $50 |
| Licences you have to buy for one person | 3, the published minimum | 1 |
| Seat cost for that one person | $210 | $79 |
| Dial lines at once | 1 | 1, or 4 on smrtDialer Multi Line at $90 |
| Outbound US and Canada minutes | Unlimited, included | 500 a seat, then $0.03 a minute |
| AI call summaries | AI Assist, $9 a licence | $10 a seat |
| Monthly total, one person dialing out | $219 | $89 |
Two things that column does not say. Aircall's price includes unlimited outbound calling in the US and Canada and ours does not, so a heavy dialing month narrows the gap and a very heavy one closes it. And four lines instead of one is smrtDialer Multi Line at $90 rather than $50, which takes our column to $129. The gap here is the seat minimum, not the minute rate - at ten people who all dial, the two columns are much closer than they look at one.
Both columns are month-to-month list prices published by each vendor. Committing to a year takes Aircall's Professional licence to $50 and our seat to $24 with the dialer at $42. AI Assist is priced per licence; this puts it on one licence, which is the cheapest reading of Aircall's own pricing.
The other side
When Aircall is the better choice
Aircall is built for the inbound desk: smart routing, queue callbacks and live monitoring across a large team, with a directory of 250+ integrations behind it. smrtPhone is built for the outbound one, with ten native CRM integrations, an API and webhooks, and no Zapier app. The one number worth checking before you switch is minutes: outbound calling in the US and Canada is unlimited on every Aircall plan, while smrtPhone includes 500 a seat and meters the rest at $0.03.
- You run an inbound support desk rather than an outbound calling team.
- You need smart routing, queue callbacks and live monitoring across a large team.
- Your calling is high-volume and domestic, where unlimited minutes beat metered ones.
- Your stack is broad and mainstream, and you want an integration for all of it.
If you are replacing a support desk, not a dialer
Plenty of people searching for an Aircall alternative want the same thing Aircall is: inbound calling for a support or success team, with routing, queue callbacks, live monitoring and an integration for every tool in the stack. smrtPhone has the inbound layer - call flows, inbound teams, departments, voicemail and call monitoring - but not the support-desk depth Aircall builds around it, and not its integration directory. If that is the job, the closer swaps are Dialpad, CloudTalk, RingCentral and Talkdesk.
We are the alternative for the other half of the people who end up on Aircall: small teams who bought a calling platform in order to work a list, and found themselves paying for licences nobody sits in and dialing that list one line at a time.

| An annual commitment with a cancellation deadline | Month to month at the published price. A year is a discount you choose, not the default |
| Support that goes quiet once the contract is signed | Live chat to the team that also runs your porting and your 10DLC registration |
| Licences on the invoice nobody asked for | No seat minimum, and add-ons are per seat, so only the people who dial pay for the dialer |
| A quote that arrives higher than the price on the site | Every price is published: seats, dialer tiers, add-ons, and the per-minute and per-segment overage |
| Texting rates you have to ask for | 1,000 segments in every seat, then $0.02, with A2P 10DLC registration handled by support |
Why small calling teams leave Aircall
-
The minimum priced them out
Three licences is the floor on both published plans, so the real entry price is $120 a month whether you have three people or one. A solo investor or a two-person acquisitions desk is paying for seats nobody sits in, and the Professional tier a power dialer needs makes that $210.
No seat minimum. One seat is $29 -
One line was not enough
The Power Dialer is single-line and sits on the Professional tier. Teams working lists want two, three or four lines at once, which is what smrtDialer does - and only the people who actually dial need the add-on.
smrtDialer, up to 4 lines at once -
Podio needed a middleman
Podio is not in Aircall's integration directory. The Podio connections that exist run through LeadsBridge or Integrately: another subscription, another failure point, and call logging only as reliable as the connector.
Native Podio, no middleware
Built into the CRM you already run
Calls, texts, recordings and dispositions land on the record they belong to, with no connector in between.

What switching actually involves
Numbers port out of Aircall. Because there is no seat minimum here, teams often start with one seat, prove the CRM logging works on real calls, then move the rest across.
- Port your numbers. They move with you. Nobody has to learn a new number.
- Connect the CRM. Calls, texts, recordings and dispositions start writing to the record.
- Rebuild your call flows. Routing, ring groups, business hours and the DNC applet.
- Run both for a few days. Then move the dialing over once the logging looks right.
How long the port really takes
- Porting takes one to three weeks once the paperwork is in and confirmed. It is faster when your current provider sits on the same underlying carrier we do, and slower if the paperwork comes back rejected over a detail that does not match your carrier record.
- Support does the work. You start it from live chat and the team handles the submission.
- Do not cancel your old provider until the port completes. Your number keeps working throughout.
- Occasionally voice ports a few hours before texting does. It settles by itself.
Questions people ask before switching
Does Aircall have a minimum number of users?
Yes, on everything it publishes a price for. Essentials and Professional both require a minimum of 3 licences and the Custom tier requires 25, so the cheapest Aircall account you can price from the website is $120 a month, or $90 billed annually. Aircall's help centre also refers to a Starter AI plan that includes 1 user, but it is not on the pricing page and no price is published for it anywhere. smrtPhone has no seat minimum: one seat at $29 a month is a normal account, at a price you can read before you talk to anyone.
How much does Aircall cost?
Essentials is $40 a licence a month and Professional is $70, both with a 3-licence minimum, so $120 and $210 are the real monthly entry points. Committing to a year takes them to $30 and $50 a licence. AI is priced separately per licence: AI Assist $9, AI Assist Pro $49, Analytics+ $15, WhatsApp $10. A Professional licence with AI Assist and Analytics+ is $94 a month before usage.
Does Aircall integrate with Podio?
Not natively. Aircall publishes 250+ integrations, and its directory does list Invelo and DataSift, but Podio is not among them. The Podio connections that exist are built by third-party middleware such as LeadsBridge or Integrately, which you pay for and maintain separately. The smrtPhone Podio integration is native, as are InvestorFuse, Left Main REI, Realeflow, Carrot and Tape.
Which has the better power dialer?
For list work, smrtDialer. Aircall's Power Dialer is single-line and available only on the Professional plan, which is also the plan with the higher licence price and the same 3-licence minimum. smrtDialer runs 1 to 4 lines at once with AI voice detection, at $50 a seat for a single line and $90 for up to four, and only the people who dial need it.
Is smrtPhone cheaper than Aircall?
For a small team, substantially. One person who needs a power dialer costs $79 a month here and $219 on Aircall, because Aircall makes you buy three Professional licences to get one dialer. The picture changes with volume: Aircall includes unlimited outbound calling in the US and Canada, while smrtPhone includes 500 minutes a seat and charges $0.03 a minute after that. A large team on the phone all day domestically may well pay less on Aircall.
