Before you start…
The most important first step is to submit a support ticket to us so that we may enable your smrtPhone account for SIP devices. Once we have done this, the rest of the setup is easy.
Before setting up any SIP device, your VOIP configuration has to be switched on in smrtPhone. This must be done by an account administrator, who will give you the SIP domain, user name and password that will let you access smrtPhone from any SIP enabled device.
If you are the account administrator, visit the Admin Tab and click on Users. For each user you wish to enable, click on the Settings icon and switch VOIP Configuration to On. You will be presented with the configuration settings for that user, please make immediate note of them so you can pass them along.
Setting Up Bria
Bria is a mobile app from CounterPath available for both iOS and Android devices. It will allow you to easily make and receive calls using the numbers in your smrtPhone system. Once you receive your VOIP Configuration settings, Bria takes only minutes to setup. You can also set up Bria to respond whenever you click a phone number on your phone, rather than your native Phone app (which is handy if you’re clicking phone numbers in Podio!)
STEP 1: OPEN BRIA AND CLICK ON THE OPTIONS ICON
STEP 2: ADD A NEW ACCOUNT AND CHOOSE SIP AS THE ACCOUNT TYPE
STEP 3: PUT YOUR VOIP CONFIGURATION SETTINGS IN THE FIELDS AS SHOWN. YOU CAN
CHOOSE YOUR OWN ACCOUNT NAME. CLICK THE BACK BUTTON WHEN COMPLETED.
STEP 4: IF YOU HAVE PUT IN THE CORRECT DETAILS, YOU WILL SEE THE ICON TURN GREEN.
THIS MEANS YOU CAN START MAKING AND RECEIVING SMRTPHONE CALLS!
A Final Note on SIP Devices
The VOIP Configuration settings you receive should be sufficient to set
up any SIP enabled device. If you have any questions about your IP
Phone set up, please submit a support ticket so we can help you.
Once you have a SIP device enabled on your smrtPhone account, it will
be the first thing that rings when someone calls you. If you do not pick
up, your smrtPhone browser phone will ring, and finally, if you have a
device enabled in Personal Devices, it will send the call there.
